UnclaimedAventura has two very different places to buy jewelry, a few minutes apart on Biscayne Boulevard. Aventura Mall is where the national brands and designer boutiques are: fixed prices, polished showrooms, a piece that looks exactly like the one in the catalog. The International Jewelers Exchange at 19275 Biscayne Blvd is the other world: 46 independent jewelers listed here, most of them owner-operated, many with a bench in the back and the person who made the piece standing behind the counter.
Neither is wrong. The mall is easier when you want a specific brand. The exchange is where you go when you want a diamond graded by a lab you can verify, a ring built to your finger instead of a size chart, or a repair done by the jeweler who actually holds the torch.
Nearly half of the booths at the Aventura exchange list diamonds as a specialty. In practice that means loose stones you can compare side by side, lab reports (GIA or IGI on most certified stones), and mountings made or finished on site. Because the dealers sit next to each other, you can walk a stone from one booth to the next and get a second opinion within the hour, which is the single best consumer protection in this trade.
Our diamonds page lists the South Florida dealers we can introduce you to.
About a quarter of the Aventura booths do custom design, and a booth jeweler is often the best place to have it done: you talk to the person who will draw it, cast it and set it. Expect a CAD render or a wax model to approve before anything is cast, a written deposit and revision policy, and an invoice that lists metal weight and stone details. Photos of finished pieces like yours, not stock images, are the thing to ask for first. See our custom jewelry page and the seven questions to ask before you order.
Roughly a third of the booths take repairs and about half work on watches, so ring sizing, chain repair, stone tightening, battery and movement service are all done in the building, often while you wait for the simpler jobs. A handful of dealers specialize in estate and antique jewelry, buying and selling pre-owned pieces; if you are selling, get an appraisal from someone who is not the buyer first.
Browse jewelry repair and watch repair across all five South Florida hubs, or search every jeweler by what you need.
Yes. The International Jewelers Exchange at 19275 Biscayne Blvd, Aventura, FL 33180 houses dozens of independent jewelers under one roof; 46 of them are listed on this page. It is a separate place from Aventura Mall.
Nearly half of the exchange booths deal in diamonds, loose and set. Ask for a GIA or IGI report, compare two or three booths in the same visit, and check the value independently before you pay.
About a quarter of the listed booths do custom design, usually with the bench on site. Ask to see finished work, agree on the deposit and revisions in writing, and approve a render or wax model before casting.
Often, because booth jewelers carry far less overhead than a mall storefront and compete with the booth next door every day. Prices are not the whole story, though: quality varies booth to booth, so credentials and written policies matter as much as the number.
Simple jobs such as a battery, a clasp or a quick polish are often done while you wait. Sizing, stone setting and anything involving soldering usually take a few days. Ask the bench for a written timeline with the quote.
